  • Positive impact on public volunteers

  1. Further QC processing?
  2. Only surface observations? Yes. Sub-surface and upper-air observations are left to other projects.
  3. Ship records from other sources? i.e. Spanish, Portuguese, China, Japan, etc.

                        Continuously mining for more old data – Part of ACRE project <www.met-acre.org&gt; and connected to World Meteorological Organization Data Rescue (DARE) activities.

Ideas for workshop report:

  • Authors from each presentation add something
  • Jack - Discussion: separate section to cover all discussions (Return within a week)
  • Lisan - No discussion of outstanding issues
    • Assessment of reanalysis (i.e. intercomparison)
    • Technical aspects (i.e. parameterizations)
  • Heather – key outcomes that were not captured
    • Better organization?
  • Xiquan – Can contribute to Reanalysis Evaluation section
  • Gil – draft paper to BAMS, “Progress in Climate Reanalysis”
    • Philosophy, why?, ...

  • Each project provide a final briefing (20 minutes)
